PD Play Submission Procedure 2009

To submit a play to be considered for a public reading, send us the following:

-A hard copy of the script (postal address below) - Please include a SSAE if you want your script returned.

-An electronic copy of the script and a one paragraph (150 words approx.) synopsis of your script (email scripts & synopsis to:  bookings@parnassusden.org.au)

-$50 submission fee (your first submission fee includes complimentary membership to Parnassus’ Den in 2009)

-A completed 2009 Parnassus’ Den membership form available from:www.parnassusden.org.au

- All subsequent script submissions in 2009 incur a fee of $50.

- Payment methods are:

-          Electronic Transfer – BSB: 012140, Account No: 4402 87228, Account Name: Parnassus’ Den 

(PLEASE REMEMBER to type your name in the REFERENCE box so we can confirm your payment)

-          Cheque or money order (made out to “Parnassus’ Den”) - postal address below.

PLEASE NOTE – You will receive a detailed written assessment of your script by PD’s professional script assessors if your script is NOT selected for a reading.

If we select your script for a reading we will:

- Contact you to set a reading date. All PD readings are held on Monday nights

- Ask you to sign and return the Parnassus’ Den Creative Forum Agreement (Copies are available from the Literary Manager, bookings@parnassusden.org.au and on the web site).

- Ask you to send an electronic copy of your script (word, rtf or pdf formats only) to Currency Press (clairegrady@currency.com.au) so it can be printed and posted to cast and director at least 10 days prior to your reading.

- Ask you to send the following to our Artists Rep (Amanda Wiltshire) casting@parnassusden.org.au at least 3 weeks before your reading:

1. An electronic (emailed) copy of your script.

2. A one paragraph (150 words approx.) synopsis of your script.

3. A character description of each character in the script, along with any doubling or trebling of parts required for the reading.

- Help you organize a director for your reading if you need our assistance. Whilst you are welcome to use a director of your choice, we have a pool of experienced professional directors we can contact on your behalf as needs be.

-In liaison with our Artist’s Representative, organize your cast. Whilst you are welcome to use actors of your choice, we can assist with casting from our list of recommended professional actors.

-Be available for the rehearsal prior to your reading. PLEASE NOTE the rehearsal for readings will be held on the same day of the reading – ie during the day on the Monday of the reading from 10am to 5pm. The reading itself will be held at 7.30pm on that Monday night.
