Play Submission Procedure 2011

In 2011 Parnassus’ Den will hold public play readings each month at our home:

THE DARLINGHURST THEATRE -19 Greenknowe Ave Elizabeth Bay, Sydney.

To submit a play to be considered for a public reading, send us the following:

-A hard copy of the script (postal address below) - Please include a SSAE if you want your script returned.

-An electronic copy of the script and a one paragraph (150 words approx.) synopsis of your script (email scripts & synopsis to:  bookings@parnassusden.org.au)

-$50 submission fee (your first submission fee includes complimentary membership to Parnassus’ Den in 2011)

-A completed 2011 Parnassus’ Den membership form available on request from info@parnassusden.org.au

- We will post to you your PD membership card and a receipt

- All subsequent script submissions in 2011 incur a fee of $50.

- Payment methods are:

-          Electronic Transfer – BSB: 012140, Account No: 4402 87228, Account Name: Parnassus’ Den 

(PLEASE REMEMBER to type your name in the REFERENCE box so we can confirm your payment)

-          Cheque or money order (made out to “Parnassus’ Den”) - postal address below.

PLEASE NOTE – You will receive a detailed written assessment of your script by PD’s professional script assessors if your script is NOT selected for a reading.

If we select your script for a reading we will:

- Contact you to set a reading date.

- Ask you to sign and return the Parnassus’ Den Creative Forum Agreement (you can request a copy by emailing info@parnassusden.org.au)

- Ask you to send the following to bookings@parnassusden.org.au at least 10 days prior to your reading

1 - an electronic copy of  the draft of your script we will be reading (word, rtf or pdf formats only)

2 - A 50 word and a 150 words (approx) synopsis of your script.

3 - An image (smallish jpg file) which we can use to promote your reading

4 - Your headshot and paragraph biography

If you require, we can help you organize a director for your reading. Whilst you are welcome to use a director of your choice, we have a pool of experienced professional directors we can contact on your behalf as needs be. Your director will be responsible for casting your reading.

We ask you to be available for the rehearsal prior to your reading at Darlinghurst Theatre PLEASE NOTE the rehearsal for readings will be held at Darlinghurst Theatre on the same day of the reading – ie during the day on the Monday of the reading from 10am to 5pm. The reading itself will be held at 7.30pm on that Monday night.
